Reflect on your journey so far. Reconnect, share, and begin exploring your photographic voice and what inspires you.
- Week 2
Playing with Themes & Mini-Series
Discover how working with a loose theme can guide and focus your photography. Begin experimenting with your own creative direction.
- Week 3
Seeing Differently: Texture, Pattern & Detail
Learn to slow down and observe more deeply. Focus on surface, shape, repetition, and visual rhythm in everyday scenes.
- Week 4
Depth & Layers
Create more visually complex images using spatial depth, layering, and subtle storytelling techniques.
- Week 5
Colour & Emotion
Understand how colour influences mood and meaning. Explore personal palettes and emotional resonance through colour.
- Week 6
Intro to Editing for Expression
Enhance your images using simple, free editing tools. Focus on cropping, light, contrast, and colour to support your creative intent.
- Week 7
Selecting & Polishing
Learn to choose and refine your strongest images. Explore how images work together and prepare your favourites for sharing.
- Week 8
Informal Group Showcase & Next Steps
Present your best work from the course in a relaxed, supportive setting. Celebrate progress and receive feedback, with guidance on where to take your photography next.

This inspiring and creative 8-week course is designed for those who have completed a beginners photography course or already feel confident with the camera basics.
You'll develop new skills, gain fresh perspectives, and develop your creative confidence in a warm and supportive group environment.
Each week introduces a new theme to gently challenge and inspire you, inviting you to experiment, reflect, and enjoy the process of making images that truly resonate with your soul.
This is your space to explore, discover more joy in your photography and evolve.

General Outline of a Lesson Plan for each Weekly Session
Each class is thoughtfully structured into three parts to help you grow both technically and creatively:
Part I - Feedback & Discussion
We begin by reviewing your photographs from the previous week’s theme. You’ll receive constructive feedback on composition, technique, and creative choices, along with suggestions for improvement. This is also your chance to ask questions and gain clarity as you continue developing your skills.
Part II - New Theme & Inspiration
Next, we introduce the week’s new theme. Through examples from renowned photographers, we’ll explore creative techniques and ways of seeing. When relevant, you'll also be guided through simple editing demonstrations and have the chance to for hands-on practice.
Part III - Wrap up & Homework
We’ll summarise the key ideas from the session and discuss the creative task for the following week—designed to keep you motivated, curious, and inspired between sessions.
Handouts
At the the end of each weekly session, I will be sending you e-handouts by email.
Camera guidelines
A DSLR or mirrorless camera is ideally the best type of camera you can have if you want to really explore and experiment with photography at a beginner level. However, all types of cameras are welcome, as long as they have a manual shooting mode setting. Smartphone camera users are also welcome.
